Oney and Air Caraïbes announce an innovation in the French air sector. Oney, a major player in Europe in consumer financing, insurance, and fraud prevention, and the leader in France in installment payments, is strengthening its partnership with Air Caraïbes, an airline specializing in the Caribbean, to offer travelers a new way to manage their vacation budget. Now, Air Caraïbes customers can pay for their “Last Minute” plane tickets in 3 or 4 installments by credit card, for a departure as early as the next day.
A FIRST IN THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY: PAY UPON RETURN
Since 2017, Oney and Air Caraïbes have been collaborating to make travel more accessible and allow everyone to realize their desire to escape by paying for their tickets in 3 or 4 installments on the airline’s website.
Today, the two partners are announcing a new takeoff in the sector. Now, all flights, including those for a departure as early as the next day in “Last minute,” can be paid for in 3 or 4 installments by credit card. In a context where travelers are looking for flexibility and control over their budget, this solution is a major asset, especially for Air Caraïbes’ overseas customers, for whom a sometimes imperative trip can represent an unexpected expense that is useful to split.
Through the implementation of this new solution, Oney confirms its position as the leader in installment payments in France by becoming the first market player to finance “Last minute” offers.

“Since always, Air Caraïbes’ mission has been to bring travelers closer to the West Indies and make this dream accessible to as many people as possible. With Oney, we are taking a new step by offering the possibility to pay in installments even for “Last Minute” tickets. We remain true to our promise: to offer a travel experience to the Caribbean that is accessible, flexible, and resolutely focused on the needs of today’s travelers.“
« This innovation is the result of close collaboration between our teams and those of Air Caraïbes, which has allowed us to adapt our payment solution to the specifics of Last minute offers and thus continue to make consumer purchases always easier and more accessible.»

INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS: NEW ALLY OF TRAVELERS’ PURCHASING POWER
According to a CSA survey for Oney (January 2025), 79% of French people say they have to make stricter choices in 2025 for their non-essential expenses. However, the desire to escape does not wane.
The first half of 2025 indeed shows a 3% increase in spending on travel and tourism compared to 2024. A trend that continues from 2024, which recorded a growth of 6%, a significant increase of 40% since 2019 (source: Baromètre des paiements Digital & Payments de BPCE L’Observatoire 2025). Moreover, the months of July and August record the highest spending peaks of the year, a sign of the development of last-minute stay and ticket sales.
At a time when leisure spending is more considered than ever, installment payments are increasingly appealing to the French. More than 6% plan to use it in the second half of 2025, a trend significantly marked among young people under 35 (11%), and particularly among 18-24 year olds (15%). (CSA survey for Oney – 2025).
Faced with this dilemma between the desire to travel and budget reality, installment payments become a lever for access to travel: it allows continuing to travel while maintaining control over one’s budget.
With over 10 years of collaboration with the largest players in tourism (airlines, tour operators, amusement parks, hospitality…), Oney establishes itself as a reference financial partner. In 2024, more than 286,000 people traveled thanks to its financing solutions, or more than 800 travelers per day.
Key Data on French Travel Spending Intentions – 1 in 10 French people (10.88%) plan to increase their spending in the “Travel and Tourism” sector by the end of the year. This intention is particularly marked among young people under 35, with nearly 1 in 5 French people (19.07%) planning to increase their travel spending. – Young people aged 18-24 are the most optimistic, with more than a quarter (26.43%) of them wanting to increase their spending in this area. – Payment in 3 or 4 installments by credit card is a financing option considered by more than 6% of French people. – This payment method is significantly more popular among young people under 35 (11%), and particularly among 18-24 year olds (15%).
