Auchan Retail Romania, in collaboration with Oney Finances, has launched Well.com, a unique digital application in Romania, which allows payment with biometric authentication, fingerprint and QR code registered on the mobile phone application. This keeps the data on the phone.
Fingerprint payment is an innovation in the local market and Auchan is the first Romanian retailer to implement this technology in its stores. Thanks to this innovative biometric authentication, users of the application can pay without using their card or phone. This payment option is safe, fast and convenient for the customer.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of an innovative project that is part of Oney’s development and innovation strategy, a project that aims to radically transform the customer experience under high security conditions and at maximum speed. The pilot project, launched with Auchan, introduces the first biometric payment method on the Romanian market, but this is only the beginning. Our goal is to change the relationship between retailers and customers by simplifying the way they pay.
Filling up and paying for gas without getting out of the car, ordering food, paying utility bills, shopping in and out of stores, sharing restaurant bills with friends or ordering a taxi, can now be processed with a single application.

All you have to do is put your finger on the terminal and the payment takes a few seconds,” explains Jean-Michel Goncalves, General Manager of Oney Finances Romania.
