Oney recognised as a “Top Employer” for the second year running in France

Oney, a bank specialising in the development of innovative payment solutions, reaffirms its status as a Top Employer in France. First certified by Top Employers Institute in 2016, a global certification company recognising excellence in the conditions that employers create for their people, this certification has, for the past 25 years, showcased those companies offering a working environment and conditions conducive to the development and blossoming of their employees. This certification recognises the quality of the working environment created by Oney for its 1,000 employees in France to allow them to unleash their creative spirits to drive innovation and customer service.

Employees at the heart of Oney’s development

Oney reaffirms its HR commitment by means of the “Top Employer France 2018” certification, awarded it by Top Employers Institute for the second year running. For this latest certification, the body paid particular attention to the working conditions offered by prestigious employers in France. Oney is one of 78 companies enjoying this status in France.

“We are delighted to see the efforts made by the HR teams, in tandem with all employees, recognised and showcased through this new certification”

— Muriel Barroca, Head of Employee Development

“We are putting the employee experience at the heart of our HR strategy, with a view to offering them a setting and a working environment in which they can feel free to be themselves and work for our customers and partners”

— Vincent Perrin, Human Resources Director of Oney France

“This is part of a process of transformation that we have undertaken together with employees and that they run, within a supportive framework in a spirit of innovation and cooperation. This renewed certification will encourage us to push forward and accelerate this corporate transformation”

— Corinne Hochart, CEO of Oney France

“This year Top Employers Institute decided to recognise Oney for the excellent working conditions it offers its employees in France in terms of training them, enabling them to progress, grow and blossom in a positive working environment”

— Benoît Montet, France Director at Top Employers Institute

Oney passed the 1,000 employee milestone in France at the start of the year

With over 1,000 employees in France, Oney supports their growth through on-boarding, mobility and talent training. Over 230 positions were thus filled through internal mobility or outside hires in 2017 and a similar tempo should be seen in 2018. Reflective of its DNA as a Banker and Merchant, Oney looks for skills but above all “original, passionate and slightly audacious” characters.

Offering employees a memorable experience

New tone in the hiring, optimised welcoming and on-boarding process, development of training, performance management, internal mobility,…: Oney has been closely re-examining its HR pathways since 2017, in cooperation with its employees, in order to offer them a personalised experience that strengthens each person’s commitment. Developing the talent of 1,000 employees and supporting the business lines with their evolving environments are mainstays of the HR strategy. To this end, Oney has expanded its digital training platform, now offering close to 70 modules, including new formats (Mooc, …). The transformation of the HR teams using a “business partner” approach, combining the needs of the business lines for skills and employee expectations, makes it possible to more effectively support talent development.

Lastly, the Bank’s head office, opened in Croix (France) three years ago, is a linchpin in employee development, offering services (crèches, showers, janitorial services, cafeteria, …) and a series of events (thematic events, conferences, showroom and workshop on innovation, recreational area, …).

A HR approach conducive to collaborative innovation

Oney’s growth is in particular driven by a collaborative innovation approach to which employees make an active contribution. Each year, using the POP collaborative platform they offer several hundred ideas, enhancements at Hackathons run with partner retailers, students or indeed start-ups. Many innovations come out of this collaborative approach: broadening of the range of instalment payment solutions or indeed Automatric, a payment solution using registration plates.

More broadly, employees are involved in putting together the corporate development plan. In 2017, over 5,000 contributions were collected to help 12 working groups through which close to 300 employees played a part in transforming the company. Anyone so wishing can also participate in monthly Management Committee meetings or indeed meet management at weekly breakfasts to challenge them and give feedback.

Top Employers, international working environment certification and HR initiatives

Recognised internationally, Top Employers Institute certifies the quality of the working conditions offered by employers to their employees, in a whole range of sectors. The annual Top Employers study certifies the top employers worldwide, continually improving their HR practices and where a quality working environment helps develop talent.

The criteria used by Top Employers Institute are clearly defined and intended to assess the HR policy as a whole: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, leadership development, career & succession management, compensation & benefits and culture.

In order to ensure the validity of the process and the objectivity of the results, Top Employers Institute asks an independent audit firm to rigorously review the responses from participating companies.
