Bank & Retail

Our group was created in France in 1983 by Gérard Mulliez, the founder of Auchan. We were created at the heart of trade, and we have naturally inherited this special kind of DNA.

Since October 22, 2019, BPCE Group holds 50.1% of our share capital alongside Auchan holding, which holds 49.9%.

We share with BPCE strong values, a long-term vision and the will to act on the societal level. A subsidiary of Auchan since 1983, we are opening a new page in our history, without forgetting our origins which allowed us to be born and grow. We now have the best of both worlds : Banking and Commerce.

We are a unique bank on the market, an atypical and original positioning to which we are committed! It allows us to look forward in the long term while keeping our agility, giving us freedom in our actions.

The future is ours to write!

In 2017, together we started a great movement for human and digital transformation which will accelerate our growth. Our investments will enable us to accompany our partners in all their markets so as to respond to business challenges now and in the future. They will also enable us to bring to life the different, unique bank we are hoping to create, placing humans at the heart of our decisions.

Turning point for innovation

The 2010s have marked a shift in innovation and diversification at the service of the customer journey. Our BtoB business activity has been strengthened and specialised subsidiaries have been created: Insurance, Biometrics, Fraud Management, Data Sharing, Mobility, etc.

Our development

In the early 2000s our development began, with 3 priorities: new partners, new products, new countries. In 10 years, Oney has grown from 1 partner in 1 country to nearly 100 partners in 11 countries. We invest in people and we have gone from 1,000 to 2,000 talents

Our adventure begins

Our adventure started in 1983 when Gerard Mulliez, the founder of Auchan, decided to buy a bank to create his own bank. Oney’s current DNA was written at that time: a DNA that combines banking, business and boldness.

Conquering Europe

The arrival of BPCE in our capital with a 50.1% stake will enable us to accelerate our development to become the European leader in split payment and European day-to-day digital bank, in order to provide even better support for our partners and customers.
